Technical specification for application of Geotextile


Another name of geotextile is geotextile. Early product is less, meaning a kind of cloth material used in geotechnical work.

Geotextile can be classified into woven (woven) geotextile and nonwoven (nonwoven) geotextile according to their manufacturing methods. Woven geotextile are interwoven with two sets of parallel, orthogonal or oblique warps and parallels. Nonwoven geotextile are made of fibers that are oriented or randomly arranged and then processed. According to the method of connecting fiber, it can be divided into three ways: Chemical (binder) connection, thermal connection and mechanical connection.

The advantages of geotextile are light weight, good overall continuity (which can be made into a larger area), convenient construction, high tensile strength, corrosion resistance and good microbiological resistance. The disadvantage is that without special treatment, UV resistance is low, such as exposure, ultraviolet radiation directly aging, but if not exposed directly, anti-aging and durability is still high.
